Black and White

Today I finished my final portfolio for my black and white photography class.
I took these pictures in Traverse City at the old insane asylum.
I loved it there! I went there 2 different times and spent multiple hours both times, there is so many things to find you just can't help but get lost in the eery, mysterious, edgy place. There are so many photography opportunities there the options were endless and narrowing over 200 pictures down to 10 was difficult that is for sure, but I am happy with my final choices (unfortunately not all of them are on here, but I did give you a pretty good sampling)
I am hoping that I can convince a client to come back here with me for a session!
They have started to redo the area into small shops and it is definitely two different worlds there.
I can't wait to be living in Traverse City. The photography options are endless.
Which brings me to my next thought!

Go to Chelsea Dale Photography's Facebook Page and read our status updates!
You may just find your way to a free Northern Michigan Session if you are lucky!
What do you have to do to win? Like the status that is all! I will enter you into a drawing and announce the winners soon! You may even want to stick around the facebook page come May, I might give something away around my birthday week!

Summer starts on Wednesday and I will officially be booking summer session for Northern Michigan as well as Mid-Michigan.

10% off

Make sure you go to our Facebook page this week to see what we are up to.
Need a mother's day gift? We have gift certificates you can give to your mom.
Done a shoot with us in the past? Why not surprise your mom with her favorite print.

Have you been putting your family session off for years?
Was your last family picture over 2 years ago?
Sometimes it is hard for us to get everyone together. My parents still have the family picture hanging from 10 years ago in the house (and it may be the last time we took a full family picture)
I know we haven't done anything in at least 2 years! Sometimes it is crazy how time flies and how hectic life gets (especially when you are older)
My mom is lucky if she gets 5 people in the house at once!
Take this opportunity to get your family picture taken.

Sisters

Meet two of my favorite sisters Katie and Kelsey!
I had them in the studio on Tuesday and it was 45 minutes into the session and I realize I had already taken 200 pictures of them.
I could not believe they had never had their picture taken professionally before because they were so good at it! I have so much I could say about these two in this blog post, but I realize you would rather look at the pictures instead so I will leave it short and sweet and say that I had a great time with the girls, and they are welcome back whenever they would like.

I have so many more pictures to go through, it is so hard to pick favorites!
Tomorrow's Friday!!

Ryder

Today I had the all time pleasure of photographing baby Ryder.
To my surprise he was not as big as I expected weighing over 10 lbs at birth I thought for sure I was going to have a big baby on my hands, but he was still as tiny as ever. (long, but tiny) Don't let his little arms fool you either, he a strong little man! As Molly and I sat in the studio trying to calm him down and comfort him to get him to cooperate my mom came into the studio for a visit and was just baffled because when my sister was Ryder's age Molly's mom had just started babysitting for us. My sister just celebrated her 18th birthday and sometimes it feels like just yesterday we were going over to Molly's house to play everyday.
My mom couldn't believe the next generation was starting!
I had so much fun in the studio today.
Ryder was a bit upset at first, but once he came in contact with the furry blanket he was sound asleep.

New Lens

There is a lot going on in the studio this month,
I can't wait for all of the photo shoots I have booked!
I bought a new lens this weekend and used it a bit on the beach, but its main purpose will be for in the studio and I can't wait to test it out!
Also I just started putting hardwood floors down and I am looking for a cool new backdrop! There are so many choices I just can't decide!

I had so much fun with my last give away that I think I may do another one soon. For those of you that do not know my Birthday is in May, so I may tie my birthday into a give away!
Stay tuned for more details!

Have a good week!
