Northern Michigan Photography

I met the cutest couple today in Traverse City!
So much spunk, attitude, and love came from these two I couldn't help but laugh!
It is always a pleasure to work with such wonderful people and these two were a treat!
When they looked at each other all I could hear is mumbles and they were laughing away, I thought he was sweet talking, to my surprise they were just talking about the weather  which of coarse led to more laughter. It's sessions like these you don't forget.

Here is a sneak peak of the two of them!

The Maine Family

When I was home last month for my sisters Graduation I was asked to secretly take pictures of the Maine family for their mom as a surprise and since her birthday just passed I can finally post these!
It happened to work out perfect as Emily decided last minute to come home that very weekend and I did have my camera with me of coarse, they got their mom out of the house just long enough for me to get in there and take and take their pictures!
Now I have know this family since I was 5 so capturing their personalities and knowing what they were going to tolerate and when they would roll their eyes was the easy part of the job, and I was pleased to hear their mom thought I did an amazing job at shooting them personalities included.

wakeboarding 2011

Sometimes in life you have to switch things up and do what you love to do!
One thing I love doing more than anything is photography.
What some of you know and some of you don't know is that after photographing portraits of people and meeting new families my next favorite thing to photograph is wake-boarders.
There is just something that is satisfying about freezing a frame while a person is upside down, or catching the water spraying off their board!
I was overly thrilled to get the call after work Sunday to grab my camera and get to the lake, at first I was a little nervous as it was sprinkling where I was, but by the time I got there the lake was beautiful, a little gray skies, but still 80 degrees out! We stayed out until the sun went down and I was able to get some pretty good shots! Plus it always helps when the boys are trying to learn new things because I get some funny crash shots, and they get to see where they went wrong!

Happy Summer!

Parker Family

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing the Parker family!
It was a blast! I knew it was going to be a good day when Megan came up to me at dinner wearing one of my grandma's oversized night shirts and said "this would be so cute belted" Marco Island never knew it could be so stylish! :)
We did the pictures in Traverse City, and I just can't get over how much I truly enjoy taking pictures up here. It was a great time, I watched the girls play hand clapping games, and they even gave me some ideas! The best part of the whole night was coming up with ways to keep baby Tommy entertained past bed time!
I am overly excited to post these, and I am honestly still not sure where to start! I ended the night with 411 pictures! It only took be me few hours to break it down, and I still can't pick favorites!
Thank you Parkers for letting me photograph the kids!

I owe a huge thanks to this young lady for keeping Tommy entertained and focused on me while we were doing group shots! It was a pleasure meeting you!

It is always a pleasure working with such wonderful easy going people.
Have a good holiday weekend everyone!
