So when people ask me why I moved to Traverse City I find it to be a silly question. I think everyone should want to live in a beautiful place like this and not be questioned about it! 

The last few weeks I have been watching my flower garden bloom with different flowers and occasionally I will share some with you. Today is one of those days! 

I left for work on Wednesday and when I came home I was pleased to see my garden had bloomed while I was out! I decided before they died (as most of my flowers do) I better get my camera out! 

(Also I am re-doing my room and I am in need of some new wall art!) 

Here is a little sneak peak of what I have come home to so far, I took a few more today and hopefully I will have something to show you this weekend!

My Sister's Graduating

This is my sister Amanda, you may recognize her from previous post as she is probably my most photographed client & is always okay with modeling for me. I sometimes feel privileged because she makes my job easy, we have done it so many times now that I barely even have to talk while shooting. 

She came up to Traverse City to visit me for my birthday last weekend and we were able to get out of the beach to take a few photos we decided to use for her graduation party. 

It was a perfect weekend, a little chilly by the water so we only did a total of 10 shots before we left for dinner, but a successful 10 shots they were! 

Congrats on finishing high school! It was a long four years, sorry I made you late everyday for 2 years!

Mother's Day Present

I was so happy when I got an email from Katie to do pictures as a surprise for Mother's Day. I have been waiting in anticipation to be able to show these off to you all. I obviously had to hold off so her mom didn't stumble across them before they were given to her! 

I had such a great time with the Katie and Jessica in the studio. What was supposed to be a wonderful outdoor spring dress session ended up being indoors due to the monsoon of rain we had! Michigan just wasn't cooperating! I am really happy with what we came up with in the studio and I was thrilled to hear their mom loved them!

P.S. I love my new backdrop and wood floors! 

Spending the rest of the day working on the facebook page and updating the website! 

Photo Session Winner!

I am so behind in my blogging, for those of you that do not know I have moved to Traverse City (do not worry the Freeland Studio is still open and running!) I have been swamped with work which is amazing and over the past few weeks I have been blessed with AMAZING clients! I can't wait to show you everything I have been doing! 

Also I did a little adding on in the studio. I put in hardwood floors and bought an awesome new backdrop that I am absolutely in love with! 

 Last month I gave a way a free session to a lucky person on facebook. 

I was so happy with the three girls I got to photograph! They were such characters. 

They were great to work with and I can't wait to do Ella's 1 year pictures!

Black and White

Today I finished my final portfolio for my black and white photography class. 

I took these pictures in Traverse City at the old insane asylum. 

I loved it there! I went there 2 different times and spent multiple hours both times, there is so many things to find you just can't help but get lost in the eery, mysterious, edgy place. There are so many photography opportunities there the options were endless and narrowing over 200 pictures down to 10 was difficult that is for sure, but I am happy with my final choices (unfortunately not all of them are on here, but I did give you a pretty good sampling)

I am hoping that I can convince a client to come back here with me for a session! 

They have started to redo the area into small shops and it is definitely two different worlds there. 

I can't wait to be living in Traverse City. The photography options are endless.

Sisters

Meet two of my favorite sisters Katie and Kelsey! 

I had them in the studio on Tuesday and it was 45 minutes into the session and I realize I had already taken 200 pictures of them. 

I could not believe they had never had their picture taken professionally before because they were so good at it! I have so much I could say about these two in this blog post, but I realize you would rather look at the pictures instead so I will leave it short and sweet and say that I had a great time with the girls, and they are welcome back whenever they would like. 

I have so many more pictures to go through, it is so hard to pick favorites!
